How It Works
Enter an Unturned server address such as example.com:27015 or a direct IP like 123.45.67.89:27070. The tool will check:
- ✅ whether the server is online
- ❌ if the server is offline or unreachable
- 🧭 server name, map and player count when available
Which Port Actually Answers
Unturned is the straightforward case among survival games: the port you see in the server list is the port that answers a status query. Default is UDP 27015, and that is what this tool uses when you leave the port out.
Community servers run on all sorts of numbers - 27070, 27215, 22555 - because hosts assign whatever is free. Paste the address with its port exactly as listed and it will work; there is no plus-one offset to remember here, unlike DayZ or Rust.
Why Check Unturned Server Status?
Unturned communities live on their regulars. Servers are usually run by one person on modest hardware, with a Discord full of people who notice immediately when something is wrong - and who will ask you about it before you have noticed yourself.
An external check answers that question honestly: either the server is unreachable from the outside world, or the problem belongs to the one player reporting it.
Common Reasons an Unturned Server Goes Offline
- Workshop content problems: a map or mod that was removed, made private or updated incompatibly stops the server from starting.
- Plugin errors: RocketMod and OpenMod plugins run arbitrary code; a bad one can take the whole server down.
- Game update: Unturned updates frequently, and a server left on an older build stops accepting current clients.
- Resource limits: Unturned servers are often hosted on small VPS instances where a busy evening exhausts RAM or CPU.
- Steam connectivity: the server needs to reach Steam to authenticate players; if that path breaks, joins fail even though the process runs.
- Firewall: the server needs its UDP port open inbound, plus the neighbouring ports Steam uses for queries and traffic.
Continuous Monitoring for Server Owners
With UptyBots you can set up a port monitor on your Unturned server that:
- Queries it from several countries every 1 to 5 minutes.
- Alerts you by email, Telegram or webhook when it stops answering.
- Records uptime history, so you can answer "is it down again?" with a link instead of a guess.
- Gives you a public status badge for your Discord or community site.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the default Unturned server port?
UDP 27015. Community servers commonly use other numbers - use whatever the server list shows.
Do I need to add or subtract anything from the port?
No. Unlike DayZ or Rust, the listed port is the one that answers. Paste it as is.
Does this work for modded and RocketMod servers?
Yes. The check happens at the network level and is unaffected by plugins, maps or mods.
Is this checker free?
Yes, free and without signup. For continuous checks with alerts and uptime history, create a free UptyBots account.
